In 1981, the KEY (Kahalu'u-He'eia Ecumenical Youth) Project in Kahalu'u, Hawai'i took on the challenge of restoring the rapidly disappearing limu beds (seaweed ) in Kane'ohe Bay. Fisherman Jerry Kaluhiwa spearheaded the project along with several teen students from the area. Over time, they saw the regeneration of limu of many varieties in the bay. A production of Victoria Keith & Jerry Rochford, Windward Video, 1981.
